Qilin process (2) by SonPan Qilin process (2) by SonPan
Sorry, big file!

Here's the second part of the process of painting my "Qilin" piece, this is the step-by-step of the actual watercolor painting. Hope it's useful for anyone!

Again, I'm lazy, so if you'd like to read descriptions, please go to my blog: [link] :XD:

Wonderful work and process! Very good ^^
So you start with a digital sketch, turn it into a traditional sketch, go back to digital to make a test of coloring and then color the lineart traditionally? xD

Nope, I start with a traditional sketch, correct any mistakes there might be digitally, do a quick digital color test, trace the sketch into a clean lineart, and then finally color it traditionally.

I misplaced some steps XD But whoa, what a long process! The final result is totally worth it, though :)

Yeah, it's kind of a hassle, but for me it seems to be the best way to go. Glad you think it's worth it, that makes me feel better about it! :XD:
